Roxane Schlumberger is a photographer and printmaker. She currently resides in San Francisco, CA where she shoots and prints.
I document environments, personal objects, thoughts, and experiences in states of degeneration. This is done to investigate the transformation of place from reality into the ambiguity and perceptions of memory and storytelling.
Physical objects explore the concept of location and presence through scale and compartmentalization. Photography is used to document states of being in a space while processes in printmaking enable reproduction, fragmentation, multiplication, and isolation. Visual interplay developed through process, materials, and layout employ questions of exchange between experiences and their translation into image and object.
